Pet Rescue Help ▪ What to do and who to call when your pet is missing.

There are several things you should do when your pet is missing. There are people who are willing to help! Use this three step guide to get results. Best of luck!

 

1.Lost Pet - Gather the following information: Breed, Color, Weight, Collar Description (if pet was wearing one), Sex, Your phone number & where pet was last seen.

 

2. Found Pet –

·        Take to vet to see if pet is micro chipped to find owner for Free

·        Drive neighborhood to look for “lost” signs

·        Search internet for rescue groups

·        Search internet for lost animals (see links below)

 

3. Contact local veterinarians, pet hospitals, and city and county agencies.

 

4.  Additional things you can do.

  • Post signs on high traffic streets such as Shadowdale, Conrad Sauer and Beltway 8. Signs with photographs get best results. Be sure to remove your sign after your pet has been found.
  • Send your Pet Rescue request to SOCA and include the information in point #1 above. We will distribute your lost pet notice to SOCA members registered in the SOCA email list. If available, attach a photo of your pet to your email.
